Southern Yacht Club
Officer's signals
These flags were first used in the late Nineteenth Century, when many club had their own officers signals. At some point, the SYC By-Laws were changed to specify the NYYC-designed "generic" officers flags now used by the majority of American yacht clubs. In 2013, the Governing Committee approved the use of these legacy flags, including the newly-added Past Commodore's signal.

Legacy Comodore, Vice-Commo., and Rear-Commo. signals, circa 1894, and Past Commo. signal adopted 2013.
